#CyberHeadlines: LeakedSource Server Confiscated
LeakedSources Shuts Down
LeakedSources, a popular site for amateur hackers, has allegedly had its server confiscated by U.S. law enforcement. PC World quotes users on HackForums.net who claim that any amateur hackers who paid for information from this site now has all of their personal info in the hands of law enforcement or FBI. A data collector by the name of Keen, claimed that LeakedSource bought their information from hackers, while saying that it was all publicly available data. He also suspected that the ESEA ransomware attack in December may have gone to LeakedSource making the case for this investigation. Troy Hunt, an industry-famous Australian software architect, said that LeakedSource even had his personal information, searchable on their site. Similar sites are now fearing federal investigation, some making public statements on social media about complying with law enforcement and having no ill-intent.
