Businesses Invest in Filling the Skills-Gap
HealthDataManagement.com compared multiple reports which have been recently published about organizations combatting the growing skills-gap with spending increases in their data security endeavors. Looking at reports by Thales, Crowd Research Partners, the Center for Cyber Safety and Education as well as the 2017 Cybersecurity Trends Report produced by a collaboration of several cybersecurity vendors. Healthcare Data Management found that the reports were all comparable in their findings.
The Crowd Research Group found that 54% of companies plan to up their spending towards training and certifying internal staff and 29% plan to partner with a security provider.
According to the 2017 Cybersecurity Trends Report, 46% of organizations surveyed are boosting their security budget by around 21% with majority of their budgets going towards cloud infrastructure and training.
It seems by many of these reports that the trend is to start training employees up. Something that we have supported and encouraged for years. Hopefully, more businesses will begin prioritizing educating their existing employees in data security awareness and the latest cyber security methodologies.
